How to update your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch over the air (OTA) in iOS 5

1. Tap Settings > General > Software Update
2.  If there's nothing new, you will see the message 'iOS <version number> Your software is up to date.'. Otherwise, you will be presented with all the details about the update. If there's a new update, tap Download and Install.
3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions
4. You're highly recommended to connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to a power source before you start the update.
5. Your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch will start downloading the update. The progress bar will depend how fast your 3G or WiFi signal. Don't be alarmed if it take a long time to update or the update slow down suddenly.
6. Once it finished downloading, tap Install to start installing the update. The update will start installing automatically on your behalf if you don't explicitly tap Install or Later within a few seconds.
7. Agree to the Terms and Conditions again
8. Apple will start verifying the update
